BIOGRAPHY

George Howarah is a patent attorney with nearly a decade of experience in all facets of patent procurement and enforcement. George leverages his wide variety of experience to prepare and prosecute litigation-ready patent applications.

George’s practice focuses on electrical, electromechanical, and computer technologies, including telecommunications, computer architecture, hardware, network and software, optical systems, medical devices, semiconductors, software as a service, virtualization, virtual machine management, electronic gaming, embedded systems, distributed-ledger and blockchain technology, Internet applications, and business methods.

Prior to joining Harrity & Harrity, George worked as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and an associate at Venable LLP and Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox PLLC. During his time at the USPTO, George examined hundreds of computer- and electrical-related patent applications and successfully defended multiple appeals before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He was consistently recognized for providing high-quality patent application examination.

During his time at Venable and Sterne Kessler, George prepared, prosecuted, and enforced patents for Fortune 500, midsize, and startup companies. George worked closely with client stakeholders (e.g., business leaders, in-house counsel, engineers, and inventors) to strategically prepare and prosecute hundreds of patent applications across various sophisticated technologies. George also led many complex post-grant proceedings before the PTAB, including inter partes reviews, post-grant reviews, covered business method reviews, reexamination applications, and reissue applications.

George is the creator and host of The Precise Prosecutor, a short vlog series on establishing and maintaining an efficient patent prosecution practice.
