Thomas Keating’s practice focuses on assisting large technology firms obtain high-quality patents in a variety of fields, including software, telecommunications, networking, data processing, wireless communications, and e-commerce.
Tom has over ten years experience as an intellectual property attorney, having worked for several Midwest-based general practice firms. In addition to patent preparation and prosecution, Tom has substantial experience with IP litigation, patentability and freedom to operate opinions, IP contracts and licensing, trademarks, and copyrights. Tom has worked on a wide range of technologies in the software, electrical, medical device, material science, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology spaces.
Prior to joining Harrity & Harrity, Tom worked at the law firms Tomson Law PLLC, and Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. Prior to entering the legal profession, Tom worked as a researcher for the University of Wisconsin where he conducted postdoctoral research in cell biology, and studied dynamic behavior of microtubules using light and electron microscopy.
